Interesting version of the Kirk-Marcus backstory, but the art here was totally jarring after the previous series in the order.

Yay, finally made it to the original series. Like billstar said, this is about the third version of this story (kobiyashi maru). Was interesting enough, but I've never been a fan of the no-win scenario.

Another depiction of how Kirk cheated the system. I think this is like the second or third version now. None are the same. More backstory on his relationship with Carol. This also contradicts the Academy book that says that Carol was in and Kirk was dared but the circumstances were different as well.
